Kaitlyn's Portrait Session in the City
Believe it or not, this was photo session number SIX (6) for Kaitlyn and I! From family photos, to wedding photos, to graduation photos, and more, we've done a lot!
Kaitlyn BSN, RN works in Labor & Delivery (L&D) and is incredibly passionate about her work! She started posting doing education Wednesdays on her personal Instagram account where she would go in-depth on a L&D topic. Eventually, she decided to dedicate a separate Instagram page to it, @educationempowersbirth!
As far as Kaitlyn's reason behind her page, she says it best with her page's introduction post:
"Welcome to @educationempowersbirth!
I am so happy you are here!
Knowledge is power in every circumstance you may come across in life. This page was created to educate you about all things birth. Nothing on this page is medical advice.
I am a firm believer that every birthing person should have full transparency, so they can make educated decisions about what they want for their birth experience. By having knowledge about the birth process, they can choose options based on what they believe is best for them and their baby.
When you are knowledgeable about birth, you can better advocate for yourself and not be coerced into what others think is best for you.
I will never claim to know it all. I learn something new everyday. My knowledge will be your knowledge, if you choose to follow along.
This is and always will be a place of EMPOWERMENT!
She did exactly what I would suggest any new page do- get branding photos done! For Kaitlyn's content, this wasn't a strategy-heavy session, but rather a variety of portraits for her to use on her Instagram page. A branding session is an amazing jumping off point- you can really hit the ground running with a library of high quality, cohesive photos that are perfect for Facebook, Instagram, your website, and more. You can put your best foot forward with a professional presence!
One of Kaitlyn's favorite places is Cafe One Eight, so that's where we started!
Then off we went like my other city sessions, walking around finding the best spots for photos.
And we ended on top of the parking garage, of course!
